Cooker hood full of grease, with this remedy it will shine again

With the help of just one glass of this ingredient you can make your cooker hood shine again. Let’s see how it’s done together.

Cooker bonnet cleaning
The cooker hood is a necessary appliance for the elimination of vapours, fumes and odours that are released during the cooking of food. Its use guarantees the possibility of keeping the ambient air always clean and free of pollutants. In fact, its function is to suck in all the smoke generated during cooking. There are two different types of hood: the extractor hood and the filtering hood. The extractor hood expels the air sucked into the kitchen through a duct that reaches the outside. The filtering hood sucks in all the fumes given off, purifies them by filtering them and reintroduces them into the kitchen environment.

How often does it happen that after roasting something, your house is filled with strong and persistent smells? It happens very often and it is a very annoying condition. This happens because the hood has not been activated or because it has not been cleaned properly. If its cleaning is not constant, the suction capacity is seriously compromised. This is why we must commit ourselves to its cleaning and maintenance so that it always has a high performance.

One glass is enough and your bonnet will thank you for it.
Coming home in the evening after long hours of work and realising that the house smells like roast beef for lunch: certainly not the best welcome. We rush to open all the windows in the house, and as well as letting the frost in, the smells don’t disappear any time soon – on the contrary. If you are wondering why you still smell this smell even though you have used the hood, the answer is this: your appliance is in urgent need of a thorough cleaning. When the hood is clean, the air can be sucked in and filtered much more easily. When it is dirty, it blocks the passage of fumes, making it difficult to expel them.

If you intend to finally get around to cleaning it after months and months of neglecting it, we have the quickest and most effective solution for you. It will need to be cleaned both inside and out, but before you proceed, make sure you unplug it. Cleaning the outside of the hood will be much easier: equip yourself with a cloth and a good degreaser. The most complicated part is the internal cleaning. Let’s see how it’s done.

Cleaning the bonnet
Deep clean the hood: use this ingredient and it will shine again.
If a degreaser will suffice for the outside of the hood, you will need something more powerful for the inside. First of all, you will have to dismantle the structure of the hood: there is a cover containing the filters. The filters must be removed from the lid, so that you can clean the lid in depth by immersing it in an extraordinary solution for this purpose: water and vinegar. Generously fill a sufficiently large container with water and a glass of vinegar and immerse the lid. Let it soak for half an hour and after thirty minutes wipe its surfaces with a cloth: everything will come off, even the most stubborn dirt.

Vinegar is an ingredient that lends itself very well to household cleaning, its use can work miracles in the most varied situations. However, you can perform the same procedure with the filters: the important thing is to make sure that all the grease and residues are removed. Only then can the bonnet become perfectly functional again.
