How to clean tile joints?
Baking soda
If your tile floor looks gray and the joints have blackened, baking soda is your ally. We all have a jar of this white powder at home to clean, scrub and shine many surfaces around the home. In addition, it is an economical, ecological and non-toxic product that preserves the environment. To clean tile joints with this ingredient, simply mix four tablespoons of sodium bicarbonate and a little water in a bucket. Spray the mixture on the tiles, leave to act for a few minutes then scrub with a brush or sponge. Use a clean mop dampened with water to rinse.
For more effectiveness, you can add white vinegar to this tip. To do this, simply spray white vinegar on the tiles first. Leave for a few minutes then spray the mixture of water and sodium bicarbonate. Scrub the tiles and joints using a brush, then rinse with clean water. With this tip, say goodbye to dirty grouts and make your tiles shine in no time.
The clay stone
If you want to clean your dirty tiles, clay stone is an undeniable ally. To use it, soak a damp sponge with this product then rub the joints. Then rinse with clean water using a clean mop. Please note that clay stone is a very effective multi-purpose cleaner for effortless degreasing and shine, in addition to being ecological and economical. It also has other uses in the kitchen to clean the sink, the worktop, the ceramic hobs or even the oven.
The White of Meudon
Always used by our grandmothers, this natural product is sometimes forgotten as a cleanser. However, it is a very effective product, containing particles of calcium carbonate and which helps restore the original shine to dirty and blackened tile joints. To use it, simply form a paste by mixing 100 grams of this white powder with five tablespoons of water. Apply this product using a damp sponge to the tiles and leave for an hour before scrubbing the joints with a brush or rough sponge and rinsing. Don’t forget to use a clean, dry mop to complete the cleaning and remove excess moisture.
Ammonia
Also called ammonium hydroxide, ammonia is suitable for many cleaning uses. To eliminate stains and mold, this is the ideal product. However, it should be noted that exposure to this product can cause breathing difficulties or burns to the eyes. It is therefore essential to wear a mask and household gloves to use it. Likewise, you must dilute it in a large quantity of water and ventilate the room you want to clean. To do this, dampen a cloth with the mixture of water and ammonia and rub the tile joints which will regain all their former whiteness.
