How to wash the floors with baking soda and keep them always shiny!

  • by

Not everyone knows that baking soda has countless benefits for home skin care.  It can be used in all rooms: bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and even on the terrace!

In fact,   it degreases, exfoliates and neutralizes even the most unpleasant odors. Not to mention the stain removing effect, it can also be used to wash clothes.

But unfortunately, there is one part of the house that is even more susceptible to dirt. We’re talking about the floor, which is constantly in contact with the dirty tips of your shoes. That’s why today we’ll show you how to clean the floor with baking soda!

 Daily cleaning

Perhaps the most important thing you can do to have a beautiful, smelling home is to mop your floors every day. But finding the right detergent that leaves no trace is not always easy and that’s why we’ll tell you our tip.

Start by filling a bucket with hot water and then pour in a cup of baking soda. Mix well with a chopstick and then dip a cloth into it.

Wet it and sweep it all over the floor. Before the second and third time, wring out the towel until most of the water is removed.

This trick, as already mentioned, is very useful to make them glow. Balancing the water hardness actually prevents the appearance of rust or tarnishing.

 For stains

In addition to regular cleaning, baking soda is a real miracle cure for stains. In fact, it’s great for removing black stains from white plastic seats!

If the stain is more stubborn, you can simply use our homemade cream.

Place 3 tablespoons baking soda and 1 teaspoon water in a small bowl. Stir with a spatula until the mixture is thick and smooth.

Dab a damp, non-abrasive sponge into the resulting mixture and then apply to the stain. Rub gently and repeat until finished.

Then rinse with a damp cloth and wipe all floors regularly.

Of course, make sure your floors support this component.

 For blackened joints

There is something that makes the floor dirty even though it is not. Let’s talk about the joints, the little lines between one brick and another. In fact, dirt hides in these cracks and especially in lighter soils.

Simply prepare the same stain remover cream, but this time with 9 tablespoons of baking soda and 3 tablespoons of water. It may happen that you need to change the amount of one or another component, and in this case it should not be surprising.

The aim is to only get a creamy and not a hard mass. After preparation, apply to all joints with a teaspoon.

Leave to act for a few minutes and then scrub vigorously with a toothbrush.

You will see that the stains disappear immediately and the grout lines are whiter than ever.

I don’t recommend leaving it on for too long, especially on marble floors.

Finally, wipe with a damp microfiber cloth to remove any residue.
